The hotel charges 50 Riyal per day for WIFI, the hotel policy to make extra money on top of the very high rate of Room charges, compared to other 5 star hotel in Makkah, It is daylight robbery from the captured hotel guests as they know they cannot live without WIFI, The lifts are an utter confusion and misleading as you could spend 15/20 minutes waiting for to come, I mean what a waste of time, specially if you are on S2 floor you have to wait at least 20 minutes for a lift to be available. Also, unlike Movenpick, the hotel has its own set of lifts on the Mall floor. The lifts are fantastic we never had to wait. The in-house prayer room on floor S2 (same floor for men and women) is great. The room and toilet is great very luxurious. PROS Our room number was on the 22nd floor and had a great Kaaba view its better compared to Swissotel as its in the actual clock tower which is parallel to Haram. Its a shame that despite charging SAR 1000 a night, WIFI is paid. The room service is very average the towels were roughly folded and the soap wrapper wasn't discarded. I didn't like the options and pricing on the in-room dining. Also, the servers are not attentive and tend to forget your requests. The breakfast is average nothing spectacular. One has to take two lifts to get the room in this front Swissotel is better as the reception is on the ground floor. There is a strange rule that the reception has to get confirmation from room service despite the room being ready. CONS The check in took us 30 mins despite the room being ready.
